About
Hardcore Diamond Products are the only Australian manufacturers of Diamond Drilling Equipment for the Mineral Exploration Industry. Founded, in 2004 our business has seen many changes within the industry both domestically and internationally. Such changes include the advancement in drill rig capabilities, operator skillset as well as mud technology. (Muds are lubricants used to keep the hole lubricated whilst drilling)
Design Challenge
As technology evolves within the industry so to is the requirement for us to manufacture diamond drill bits that can absorb and overcome the changes. With the need for drilling companies to reduce costs in order to remain competitive in the market place, it's imperative that the consumables they're using are being utilised to their full potential. The challenge is to create a drill bit that increases productivity, performs well and lasts longer...and more importantly, for the right price.
Design Solution
Our solution is to offer a service to all of our clients (Domestically/Internationally) whereby we tailor make the drill bit to suit the clients application, operators experience, ground conditions and the performance of the drill rig. This can be achieved by trial and error, customer detailed feedback or in most cases, direct site visits.
Design Impact
By offering this service we have the potential to reduce the drilling contractors cost per metre drilled. Let me explain.... Exploration holes can be quite deep, 1000m - 2000m+. So ensuring that you're using the right drill bit for your specific application ensures you are keeping the drill bit in the hole for longer. Changing over drill bits at depth is quite labour intensive and the lay down time required to change drill bits eats into the drilling companies margins.
