1: BRIEF DESCRIPTION:
Not all intruders use a window or a door and not all are human. DetectSafe™’s Patented Design gives the user the ability through any smart device to see into ceilings and confined spaces from the safety of the ground and once installed be alerted to any potential threats that may lay within those structures being either human pest or otherwise.
2: DESIGN CHALLENGE:
Currently the monitoring of intruders, be it humans, pest or otherwise is carried and surveyed external of building structures. MakeSafe ™ realised that the same potential for danger can come from within building structures also. Up to know identification has involved physically entering those voids or confined spaces to place and service equipment which is extremely time consuming and presents a risk for those installing such products. Our Design Challenge is always about safety and removing the use of ladders wherever possible. Integrated into our existing product BaitSafe® we can proudly say that once DetectSafe™ has been installed the user can remain safely on the ground.
3: DESIGN SOLUTION:
Due to the variance of depth found within building structures such as cupboard bases, sub-floors and ceilings it was crucial to the design to develop a “plug and play “system that could reduce or increase the height of DetectSafe™ to enter such structures. By designing a range interchanging mounts, variances of depth could be achieved quickly and simply by the user. The mount design then allowed DetectSafe™ to be secured firmly within the BaitSafe® cup allowing for the installation to be at any angle being vertical, horizontal or upside down
4: DESIGN IMPACT:
Since DetectSafe™’s debut in Malaysia in April, together with promotional videos on LinkedIn etc, the company has received a steady line of enquiries from around the World. We constantly receive videos from our distributor in Malaysia to show us how much of a useful tool DetectSafe™has become to their customers business’s being pest control. The ability for DetectSafe™ to used internally or externally provides greater market opportunities in areas such as building and home security where safety to property and loved ones is paramount.
5: OTHER KEY FEATURES:
DetectSafe’s does not listen and as such complies with all statutory requirements both Nationally and Internationally. This is a distinct marketing advantage also and a crucial part of the products effectiveness in monitoring activities within any or all building structures internally. With export sales currently underway to Malaysia and enquiries for distribution received from Spain, the UK, New Zealand and the US just to name a few, MakeSafe™ sees this as great growth opportunity not only for the business but also for the numerous companies here in South Australia. The Global home security market is expected to be worth USD 55 billion by 2023, at a CAGR of 9% during the forecast period 2018–2023. Increasing criminal activities and advancement in smartphone-enabled remote monitoring technology is expected to drive the home security systems market and we are able to capture a part of this market and more due to the products unique, innovative, discreet design. With DetectSafe™’s ability to go where no other IP camera can go and give the user “eyes in the sky “ MakeSafe™ expects to become a significant player in the IOT marketplace. MakeSafe™ has in place major pest control distributors in most countries throughout the World through its current product BaitSafe® the companies strategy to utilise those distributors as a conduit to market for DetectSafe™ in the early days
