1: BRIEF DESCRIPTION:
ARID has over 25 years experience in product design and commercialization, with more than 300 products developed and taken to market ARID provides industrial design solutions and all related services for manufacturing a diverse range products from concept to delivered goods to both Australian and international businesses.
2: DESIGN CHALLENGE:
ARID has extensive experience in product design and commercialization strategies, a vast knowledge of and ‘hands-on' experience of materials and manufacturing solutions, we offer a full range of services including prototyping, in-house short-run production and mass production supervised and supported by our own QC and production assembly facility in Shenzhen, China. ARID provides turnkey design to manufacture solutions for businesses that require physical products. The biggest challenge is to transform the clients concept into commercially viable solution with high market share.
3: DESIGN SOLUTION:
ARID is responsible for designing, developing and manufacturing an extensive diverse range of products. The integral relationship between the design process and the most appropriate specific method for production of a product to ensure it is fit to suit the market is enabled by ARIDs intimate familiarity and ‘hands-on’ experience with the full array of production materials, traditional and advanced manufacturing processes, their relative advantages, limitations and suitability to the specific requirements, a critical factor in the design process from the outset, with recursive review and modification being a proven procedure to ensure cost effective solutions.
4: DESIGN IMPACT:
ARID's direct design to manufacture strategy is enabling companies to have ready access to design and manufacturing capabilities to create products that generate new revenue streams and opportunities to grow and expand their companies. Combined with the Adelaide based design and design verification capabilities, ARID has a purpose designed and built quality control facility in China that makes it possible for customers to build and quickly get the minimal viable product to market while at the same time ensuring the design is verified as being appropriate for scaling to mass production for future growth, along with logistic support for distribution.
5: OTHER KEY FEATURES:
After 11 years of supervised production in China, ARID has now established its own manufacturing and assembly facility in Shenzhen, China, with a range of high-quality equipment in operation, including injection moulding, a specialized lathe for creating custom precision parts and a large scale twin head 3D printer. This facility is 100% founded and controlled by ARID The additional facility allows ARID to better manage production at all stages and ensure ongoing product quality and consistency. It also means ARID can more easily achieve exacting and timely production while controlling costs, to maintain budgets and ensure the cost-effectiveness of breakthrough products. This has made it possible for ARID to not only design but also deliver fully finished products that are constantly monitored for quality and possible design improvements on each production run. Over the the past 10 years ARID has been responsible for the design and direct manufacture of more than $50,000,000.00 worth of products that are exported around the world to more than 23 countries, rather than reducing the workforce of SA companies it has facilitated significant growth and employment opportunity for more than 30 full time SA employees in high value well payed professional positions. Examples include 400,000 units of Edison and nine production runs of GDot.
